THOMAS PITZ

Thomas G. Pitz, of Oshkosh, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born December 15, 1933 in Appleton, son of the late Joseph B. and Mable (Krake) Pitz. Thomas married Sylvia Schierl on October 27, 1956. He was employed with Kimberly-Clark Corporation until retiring in 1995. Thomas loved boating, water skiing and fishing for Lake Trout and Salmon. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and attended many home and away games including Super Bowl XXXI. Thomas loved his home and spending time with his family. Thomas was a faithful and charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah. Beloved husband of Sylvia; loving father of Penny (Arthur) Claggett; proud grandpa of Kimberly Claggett; and two step-grandsons: Joel and Kevin Claggett; his sister, Doris (Lowell) Leininger, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Fran Pitz, Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Haufe in 2009; and two brothers: Joe (Ruth) Pitz, Bob (Fran) Pitz. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl and Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha. The family has established a memorial fund for St. Gabriel Parish.
