JOY SCHWARTZ

Joy M. Schwartz, of Neenah, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Joy was born in Wausau, WI, on September 27, 1925, eldest daughter of the late Clarence and Hulda (Dorelius) Wendorf. Joy graduated from Wausau High School in 1943. She entered the work force at Employer's Mutual Insurance Company in 1943 and was employed there for about 9 years, making many lifetime friendships along the way. On February 1, 1947, Joy married her high school sweethearts, Frank Schwartz, with whom she spent her entire happily married life. Frank passed away on January 2, 2015. Throughout her married life Joy enjoyed shopping, especially for clothes and it became a lifelong endeavor. She enjoyed biking in the summer and camping with Frank and their son, Larry, during the 1950's and 1960's. Larry was born in 1951 and also enjoyed camping. When it rained, Joy was not a "happy camper." Joy was a people person, and no one was a stranger to her. She also enjoyed travelling and socializing with friends. After moving from Wausau to Neenah in 1960, she became a volunteer, was a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Bank, and she was a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church of Neenah and Wausau. One of Joy's most enjoyable experiences was giving assistance to Dick Nooe, who became one of her closest lifelong friends and advisors. In 1994, her greatest joy of the later years was the birth of her grandson, Jesse Schwartz. Jesse returned all the love and affection that was given to him by his "grandma" all the time. Joy is survived by her son, Larry (Barbara) Schwartz; her grandson, Jesse Schwartz; and the family cat, Roscoe; all of Neenah. She is further survived by brothers-in-law: Fred (Fae) Schwartz, Buena Park, CA, Arden (Ethel) Schwartz, Wausau and Naples, FL; and a sister-in-law, Mary Luedtke, St. Joseph, MO. Joy was preceded in death by her only sister, Nancy, Wendorf; her in-laws; a niece, Judy Schwartz; and other nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. It was Joy's wish to be cremated and not to have any service performed upon her death.
