Obituary
Marian K. Madsen, age 90, of Neenah, passed away on Monday morning, January 22, 2018 at the Valley VNA. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Appleton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Fabian and Rose (Meyer) Wautlet. On May 22, 1948 she married Daryl I. Madsen, and their marriage was blessed with 9 children and just short of 67 years before Daryl preceded her in death on May 2, 2015. Marian was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren above all else. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, her flower garden, baking, as well as biking and cross-country skiing in her younger years.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Beth (Gary) Sonnenberg, Winneconne; Amy Madsen, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; her sons: Nels (Gloria), Whitewater, WI; Michael (Karen), Honduras; Gary (Linda), Greenville; Mark (Janina), Gourdon, France; Larry (Margaret), Apex, NC; 27 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Madsen, Madison; brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Marian was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara; her son, Donald; and her granddaughter, Morgan.
The Funeral Service for Marian will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Marian will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.
