ROBERT BRICCO

Robert E. Bricco, age 84 of Neenah, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, February 13, 2015. He was born in Ingersoll, WI on September 12, 1930 to the late Earl and Lillian (Ploeger) Bricco. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Wittenberg High School. After graduation his true passion was baseball. He traveled to many baseball tryout camps and was offered a contract with the New York Giants baseball team. Instead, Bob opted to enlist in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany for 30 months during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning to the states, Bob married the love of his life, Lucille Wendler on January 20, 1954. Bob worked 45 years at Kimberly-Clark as an AV Technician at the Marketing Center. In 1972 he and his brother Jim opened Bricco Beverage Market and Deli in Neenah and ran it until it was sold in 2002. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder for over 50 years, having even attended the ice bowl with Lucy where the two of them shared two sleeping bags zipped together for warmth. He also greatly enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. Bob and Lucy loved traveling in their retirement, having spent a lot of time in Laughlin, NV and Lac Vieux Desert in Phelps, WI. He also traveled with many of his family and friends to Cass Lake, MN every fall for the past 20 years. Bob was very proud of many things, including his well-manicured yard. He loved his flowers, especially the red geranium, but most importantly his family came first. He enjoyed every minute spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons, and was a great part of their lives and always wanted them to "do the right thing" and "cover all your bases." Bob was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, and was involved in their Board of Elders and served as an usher and a greeter. He never missed a Saturday Evening Worship. On Sunday mornings he enjoyed listening to Polka music at full volume. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Lucille; his children: Kim (Jim) Ostrowski, Portage; Robert (Mary) Bricco, Stoughton; Sherry (William) Tobin, De Pere; Todd (Lynn Krueger) Bricco, Hatley; and Kristi Kay (Kenny Van Landghen) Bricco, Mackville; her grandchildren: Kristin (Dr. Josh) Modder; Joshua Ostrowski; Cory Bricco; Justin (Amber) Ostrowski; Tommy Bricco; Cassi (Matt Behnke) Bricco; Carli Bricco; and Adam Fryer. He is further survived by his great-grandsons: Jackson, Phinneas, Briar, Henry, and Landon; as well as his brother, James (Rhonda) Bricco; sisters, Kathleen (Robert) Esker; Bernadine (Gerald) Kiedrowski; his sister-in-law, Nancy Bricco; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene "Fibber" Bricco; his niece Kristy Kay Kiedrowski; his nephew Keith Bricco; and a special brother-in-law, Darrelle "Duke" Verkuilen. A Funeral Service for Bob will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad St., Menasha, Rev. Steven Billings officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 A.M until the hour of service. Military Honors will follow. A private family burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Trinity Lutheran Church, Menasha, in Bob's name.
