Obituary
Donald A. Jacobs, age 93, of Neenah, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018. He was born July 5, 1924, in Appleton, son of the late Leonard and Helen (Schwab) Jacobs. Don “Jake” graduated from Appleton High School Class of 1942.
Don proudly served in the United States Army, 465th Amphibian Transportation Co., Pacific Theater, during World War II. Upon discharge in January 1946, he went to work for his father and Uncle John at their new business, “Jacobs Brothers Meat Market” on Lawe St. in Appleton.
Don married Lucille Weyenberg on June 25, 1946 at St, Therese Catholic Church in Appleton.
Don is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters: Donna (James) Schumacher, Sally Erdman, Linda (Howard) Abel; sons: William, James (Dar), and Brian (Paula); 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters: Nancy (Wayne) Peterman and Barbara (Allan) Schelfout.
Don was preceded by his brothers: Robert, Eugene and Richard; sisters: Carol Jean, and Sr. Mary Paula (born Marjorie Helen); and son-in-law, Jon W. Erdman.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 660 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Military Honors will follow the Mass with the Neenah/Menasah Veterans Honor Guard.
