EUGENE SCHNASSE

Eugene L. Schnasse, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  He was born on September 21, 1936 in Neenah to the late Fredrick and Cecelia (Wirtz) Schnasse.  Gene signed up for the service as a marine at the age of 17. He met the love of his life before being sent off to Hawaii. Gene and Elizabeth enjoyed writing letters during his deployment. After 3 years of service, Gene married Elizabeth “Billie” Kloes on April 11, 1958 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage together.  He worked at Kimberly Clark for 32 years as an industrial electrician and was also the owner of B&G Mini Storage.  Gene loved traveling across the United States and Mexico with his wife Billie in their RV for 25 years.  They were members of the Voyager's Motor Home Club.  He also enjoyed taking care of his lawn, spending time outdoors, and making crafts and selling them. In his younger years, he spent a lot of time at his cottage in northern Wisconsin. Gene was loved dearly by his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Billie Schnasse; sons: Steven (Rebecca) Schnasse and Todd (Debra) Schnasse; grandchildren: Brooke (Chris) Franco, Holly (fiancé Alan Jabas) Schnasse; step grandchild: Hunter (Amber) Mares; great-grandchildren: Carson Franco, Baylyn Franco, and step great grandson: Jace Mares.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Schnasse; sisters Joyce (James) Koslowski and Nancy (Donald) Wippich; and brother Donald (Harriet) Schnasse.

The Funeral Service for Gene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating.  Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
