MARY PONTOW

Mary Ann Pontow, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, March 23, 2015 at Evergreen Nursing Center in Oshkosh. She was born on April 9, 1931 in Neenah, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Edmund J. and Mary M. (Blajewski) Holewinski. On August 19, 1950 she married Norman E. Pontow, the couple loved each other unconditionally for 64 wonderful years, and the union was blessed with four children. In Mary Ann's younger years she worked as a Secretary in the Emergency Room at Theda Clark Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family very deeply. Mary Ann loved collecting angels, wood crafts, painting, cake decorating, and flowers. She spent much of the Christmas season being Santa at area homes, nursing homes, and group homes. This brought much joy to her life. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Norman; a son, Lloyd (Gena) Pontow, Wautoma; three daughters: Lorraine Stachowicz, Neenah, Lynn (Lee) Selle, Larsen, Luann Rodriguez, Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren: Randi, Becky, Heather, Samuel, Sara, Nick, Alex, Rose, Kayla, Kurtis; 8 great grandchildren; three brothers: Norbert (Helen), Robert (Mary Lou), Kenneth (Judy); several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The Funeral Mass for Mary Ann will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (516 DePere St., Menasha) with Father Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again on Friday morning directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Menasha.
