ROBERT BROOKS

Robert O. Brooks, age 89 of Menasha, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was born on January 10, 1926 to the late William and Helen (Miller) Brooks in the town of Rantoul, WI and later married Luella Moehn, who preceded him in death on June 4, 2002. Bob attended St. Norbert's High School in De Pere and was a member of their Junior ROTC program. He then went on to work into his 20s on his father's farm until he began working at American Can, and retired from there after over 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a very active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and an avid Packer fan, having enjoyed many games as a season ticket holder. Bob will be greatly missed by his three children: Joan (Mark) Christman; Alice Janssen; and Tomas (Jayme) Brooks; 10 grandchildren: Matt; John; Joe; Marie; Adam; Amy; Ann; Bryenna; Tara; and Kassy; as well as 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, a sister, five brothers-in-law, 10 sisters-in-law, and many, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Jerome and Gerald "Pete," his son-in-law, Michael Janssen; his grandson, Mark William Christman; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. John Christman, SSS and Fr. Charles Brooks co-officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bob's name. Bob's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Gardens of Fountain Way, as well as the nurses of Heartland Hospice for their kindness, care, and compassion.
