EUGENE LAW

Eugene J. "Gene" Law, formerly of Neenah, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. He was born March 2, 1920 in Town of Vinland, son of the late Merton and Belle (Miller) Law. Gene married Manolia VanHorn on June 24, 1942 in Iowa. He then entered the US Army during WWII and was stationed in France. Gene was with the 13th Airborne Division 326 Glider Infantry Regiment. He retired from Kimberly-Clark after 42 years of employment working in the Lakeview Mill. Gene enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and bowling. He was also an exceptional woodworker. Survivors include his wife, Manolia; five children: James Law, Laura (Bill) Steidl, Jeffrey (Kathy) Law, Gregory (Laurie) Law, Debra Law; eight grandchildren: Tracy Smith, Gary Law, Mark Law, Tom Law, Kim (Kevin) McGuire, Holly (Bob) Gorz, Lance Steidl, Wade (Mary) Steidl; three step-grandchildren: Jim (Jessica) Schabow, Joe (Jessica) Schabow, Greg (Mariana) Schabow; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Robert (Ruth) Law, John Law; and a son-in-law, Bruce (Della) Davey. Gene was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Davey; and a sister, Vivian Gibson. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in the Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home. N2665 County Hwy QQ, in King. The visitation will be held in the chapel from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the Old Glory Honor Flight program.
