DORIS MARKSMAN

Doris M. Marksman, age 83, of Menasha passed away early Wednesday morning, March 18, 2015 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. She was born on September 27, 1931 in Neenah, daughter of the late Herbert and Ella (Tesch) Porath. On February 21, 1953 she married Paul J. Marksman in Neenah. The marriage was blessed with three sons, two daughters, and 62 wonderful years. Doris will be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed rummage sales and collecting antiques, and car rides and dining out with Paul after his retirement. Above all, Doris loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Paul; her children: Kenneth L. Marksman, Linda (Thomas) Wettengel, Nancy (Gary) Robbins, Karl Marksman; grandchildren: Julie (Eric) Weinbrenner, Ryan (Amanda) Wettengel, Jason (Krystal) Wettengel, Jeff Robbins, Brian (Mary) Robbins, Steve Robbins, Brad Marksman; great granddaughters: Kaylee and Lauren Weinbrenner; a sister, Dolores Hartzheim; a brother, Ed (Char) Porath; brother-in-law, Earl Marksman; nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald; her step-father, Elmer Walbruck; brother-in-law, Howard Hartzheim; sisters-in-law: Ruth (Joseph) Mann, Lila Marksman. The Christian Funeral Service for Doris will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church (829 Appleton Road, Menasha) with Rev. Samuel Degner officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakridge Gardens for their excellent care, and heartfelt compassion throughout Doris' many years with them.
