RUTH BANDELIN

Ruth D. Bandelin, age 90, of Neenah passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Theda Clark just six days after a wonderful celebration of her birthday. She was born on May 22, 1925 in Antigo, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Frank and Marion (Verbryk) Dvorak. After high school, Ruth furthered her education at Downer College in Milwaukee, then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She was united in marriage to John L. Bandelin on April 20, 1947 in Wausau. The marriage was blessed with two children and 43 wonderful years before John preceded her in death in 1990. Ruth was a kind, loving woman. She loved golfing in her younger years, and more recently she loved playing Bridge and was an avid reader. She will be remembered as a great spirit by her loving family and friends. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her children: Marcia (Gary) Bohan, Berkeley, CA, David (Maryanne Rybak) Bandelin, Fernandina Beack, FL; grandchildren: John Bandelin, Syracuse, NY, Skylar Bohan, Berkeley, CA; a sister, Leah Poeske, Redmond, OR; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, John, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Brockman; and brothers-in-law: Robert Brockman and Jim Poeske. In accordance with Ruth's wishes, no service will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Wausau, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's name may be given to the Valley VNA or to the American Lung Association.
