Obituary
Pauline M. Darkow, age 92, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Emerald Ridge Assisted Living. She was born March 29, 1931, in Fond du Lac, daughter of the late Paul and Irma (Radtke) Frank Sr. Pauline graduated from Neenah High School in 1949. On September 23, 1950, she married Eugene Darkow Sr.
Pauline was a stay-at-home mom until her children were teenagers. At that time, she took a job with Howard Johnson Hotel in Oshkosh for a number of years until she became a caregiver for her late husband, Eugene.
Pauline enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Pauline was an avid Packer fan and always looked forward to football season.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Darkow Sr; a twin brother, Paul Frank Jr.; a sister-in-law, Irene Frank; and a brother-in-law, Richard Koslowski.
Survivors include her two children: Mary Selle (Doug Nelson), Dr. Eugene (Lynne Weyenberg) Darkow Jr; five grandchildren: David (Kim Porath) Selle, Jacob Darkow, Luke (Danielle) Darkow, Sam Darkow, and Elizabeth Darkow; four great-grandchildren: Brittany (Dustin O'Bright) Selle, Cam, Crue and Mac Darkow; two brothers: Bob (Edna) Frank, Red (Mary) Frank; and a sister, Julie Koslowski; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
