HAROLD POWELL

Harold L. Powell, of Neenah, age 80, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Illinois on May 15, 1935 to the late Clifford and Wilma (Braid) Powell. Harold graduated from Sycamore High School in 1953. He worked for several companies before beginning his career at Kimberly-Clark Corp. in 1973 as a Mechanical Engineer. Harold contributed especially in the areas of Facial Tissue converting, packaging and bundling, which involved traveling to the various K-C mills. As a result of his dedication and hard work, Harold was promoted to a Project Engineer. By the time he retired in 2000, he was an Engineering Manager. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and creating or fixing things in his extensive workshop. Harold was a devoted and longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church. Harold is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen; children: Cheryl (Grady) Gillespie, Debbie (Scott) Rogers, Denice (Jessie) Cooper, Brian (Cindy) Powell and Kristin Sanders; his siblings, Robert (Jordie) Powell, Peg (Rich) Seitz, Pattie Powell and Donna Merchant. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave, Appleton, with The Rev. James Wiebel officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Faith Lutheran Church.
