GAIL MORGAN-HOWARD
March 11, 1946 - July 25, 2015
Obituary
Gail passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday July 25, 2015 with family at her side. She was born on March 11, 1946 at Theda Clark Hospital, the daughter of Clarence and Catherine (Cady) Morgan. Gail graduated from Menasha High School in 1964 and began her professional career at the George Banta Publishing Company in Menasha. Within a few years, she accepted a position with Sunset Publishing Company in Palo Alto, California, where she resided for the next 2 years. Gail returned to the Fox Valley and began a fulfilling career in health care, beginning with St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton in their pediatrics unit. From there, Gail had the opportunity to join the Appleton Medical Center campus and became the office manager for the Appleton Heart Institute, joining Drs. David Warner, Trevor Rattray and Louis Suarez. According to her co-workers, Gail kept them all "in line". Gail met the love of her life, Larry Howard, and they married in 1985. Together they shared 30 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling together, gambling together and spending time together at their cottage in Wild Rose. Of her many passions, Gail was most fond of meeting people from all walks of life and gaining insight into their backgrounds. She had an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel good about themselves. Gail is survived by her husband Larry and his daughter Elizabeth Sipin (Mike and daughter Laura), sister Kay Vetter (Wally), and Kay's daughter Beth Reinert (Jim), Beth's children Michael Anderson (Melissa), Jonathan Vorpahl (Shannon and Avaylen) and Michael and Melissa's baby Todd. She is further survived by her brother John Morgan (Judy) and their children Grady, Kristin, Joel and their families; sisters-in-law Darlene and Claudia and her family, and Larry's brother Tom Howard (Dorothy). Gail is also survived by nieces Deb, Stanna, Darcy, Billie Jo and their families and nephews David and Matthew. Gail was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Clarence Morgan, her brothers Todd Morgan and Bill Starr and her sister Suzanne Peat. A memorial service for Gail will be held at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 30 with visitation at 2:00 p.m. followed by the service at 3:00 and further visitation immediately following the service. Gail, if the quality of a life well-lived is measured by the love you've shown for family and friends, the compassion you've directed toward those less fortunate and with the respect you've demonstrated for all people, your cup truly runneth over. We will miss you terribly. Gail's family would like to thank the staff in the Emergency Room at Theda Clark Hospital for their exceptional care during a difficult time.
