HELEN TUMMETT

Helen A. Tummett, age 85, of Appleton passed away on Thursday morning, September 17, 2015 at The Bridges of Appleton. She was born on September 8, 1930 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Adolph and Marie (Parker) Hanus (Arnold). She married Robert Tummett on July 14, 1954 and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1994. Helen was a long-time member of St. Thomas More Parish. She enjoyed making Christmas ornaments, flower arrangements, gardening, cooking, baking and candy making. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by her children: Susan Jensen (who passed away since this obituary was written), Glen Dale Heights IL, David Tummett (special friend Connie Swift), Appleton, Shari (Tom) Lapinski, Ogdensberg; grandchildren: Jessica (Betsy Sanders-Gscheidmeier) Tummett, Germantown, WI, Bryce (Sarah) Tummett, Kimberly, WI and Kris Jensen, Glen Dale Heights, IL; great grandchildren: Gabrielle, Olivia, and Elizabeth Gscheidemeier, sister: Marion (Jerry) Behrent. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Peter Jensen, and her grandson, Brandon Lapinski. Mass of Christian Burial for Helen will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Parish (1810 N. McDonald St.) with Father Gerald Falk officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
