Obituary
David C. “Tiny” Haefs, of Neenah, age 79, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born November 14, 1936 in Appleton, son of the late Charles and Minnie (Harp) Haefs.
David attended Appleton West High School. He was employed as a truck driver for Elm Tree Bakery/Rich's Frozen Foods for over 30 years.
David married Jean Kemp on May 24, 1986. He had a great fondness for the SS Badger Car ferry, spending many summer days in Manitowoc watching her arrive and depart. David started riding motorcycles after his retirement and logged thousands of miles since. He was a volunteer with the Appleton Police Department Community Service Program and at Harbor House.
David was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Combined Locks.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons: Scott Haefs, Los Angeles, CA, Christopher Haefs, Arlington Heights, IL; five step-children: Deborah (Robert) St Cyr, Gladstone, MI, Mollie Sword, Gladstone, Monica (Ronald) Smith, Dunedin, FL, Kim (Bruce) Banerdt, Stoughton, WI, Dean (Samantha) Sword, Neenah; five step-grandchildren; and two step- great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the Salvation Army of Appleton.
