HARRY SCHILLERSTROM

H. Carl Schillerstrom, age 83 of Neenah, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, October 13, 2015. He was born October 12, 1932 in Pembine to the late Harry and Olive Schillerstrom. He grew up on the family farm and attended the elementary and high school in town. After graduation he applied at Kimberly Clark in Niagara, but moved to Neenah to start working at the diaper plant. In 1953 he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea. Upon his return, he became a member of the Neenah VFW, post 10893 and resumed work at Kimberly-Clark, eventually becoming a lab technician in the Research and Development Department until his retirement at age 55. He then filled his time with woodworking, making a hobby into a second career; doing craft shows and even taking requests for special items. In his later years, his days were filled with teasing his wife, cooking wonderful creations, and of course, woodworking, which became a hobby again. Carl is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Dolores; his children: Debra (Chad) Leightley and their children: Stephanie and David (special friend Mercedes) and their children, Donnatello and Maximus; Cathy (Fred) Price and their children: Tina (Jack) and their children Stella and Delaney, and Paul (special friend Alyssa); and Kelly Schillerstrom and his daughter, Alicia (special friend Nathan). He is further survived by his brothers, Wayne (Judy) and Jerry. Carl was preceded in death by multiple siblings. Per Carl's wishes, funeral services will not be held. Carl's family would like to extend a warm thank you to Affinity Hospice, especially Laurie and Dawn for the special care they gave to Carl throughout his illness.
