FREDERICK JOHNSON

Frederick H. Johnson, age 75 of Menasha, passed away early Monday, November 2, 2015 at his home. He was born February 22, 1940 in Neenah to Hilda (Stahl) Renner and Arthur Johnson. Fred was a 1958 graduate of Menasha High School and played football throughout his high school career. He then joined the U.S. Navy before working for many years as a printer at SCA, and at Riverview Lutheran Church in Appleton as a janitor. Fred was an avid Packer, Badger and NASCAR fan and loved his dogs, Angel and Ruby. In 1962, Fred married Judith Miller and together they had four children: Christine Leitzke; Steven Johnson; Jennifer Wojcik; and Melanie Nimmo, who collectively gave him five grandchildren. In March, 1982, Fred married Janet Sommers and they had a daughter, Sommer Loar. She gave "Papa" a special grandson, Logan. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Renner. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Steve Renner; his sister, Kathleen Renner; and his daughter, Jennifer. A funeral service for Fred will be held at 12 P.M. NOON on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will take place from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Affinity Hospice, especially Laurie, for taking such good care of Fred.
