Obituary
Myrna Ruth Picchiottino, age 83, passed away on November 18, 2016, at Bethel Home, in Oshkosh, of kidney failure.
For generations, people knew Myrna as sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, wife and friend. She attended every baptism, confirmation, graduation, wedding, holiday celebration, summer picnic and funeral of a growing group of family and friends. She sent hundreds of greetings cards and left countless singing “happy birthday” messages on telephone answering machines.
Myna was born to Gottfried and Bessie Nussbaumer on August 26, 1933, in Neenah, and graduated from Winneconne High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, and worked at Kimberly Clark in Neenah. Myrna later served as a bookkeeper at the medical offices of Drs. Strabel, Bartizol and Schaefer. She travelled in the US, Europe, and Africa, had a winter home for a time in Phoenix, was a life-long member of the Neenah YMCA, and sang in the Neenah “Y Nots” choir
Myrna was preceded in death by two brothers: Alvin (Elaine) Nussbaumer, Medina; and Marvin (Bernice) Nussbaumer of Oshkosh; and four husbands: James Meiers, Appleton: Mert Dobberke, Oshkosh: Jim Lauderdale, Neenah; and David Picchiottino, whom she married on August 3, 1996. David passed away on October 11, 2015.
Myrna is survived by a sister, Edith, Neenah, and these nephews and nieces, their children and grandchildren: Ralph (Maribeth) Nussbaumer, Brookfield; Roy Nussbaumer, Appleton; Larry (Cindy) Nussbaumer, Appleton; Glenn (Lou) Nussbaumer, Hortonville, Diane (Robert) Lukasavage, Appleton; Roger (Laure) Hebbe, Greenville; Russell (Donna) Hebbe, Appleton; Robert (Karen) Hebbe, Neenah; and Susan Hebbe, Bonita Springs, Florida.
She is survived by these stepchildren, their children and grandchildren: Neil (Mary) Dobberke, Rochester, MN; Curtis (Lisa) Dobberke, Rosholt, WI; Melanie Lauderdale, Green Bay, WI; Brett Lauderdale, White Lake, WI; Bradley (Janet) Picchittino, Soddy Daisy, TN; Scott (Kathryn) Picchittino, Pearland, TX; and Davida (David) Trinka, South Haven, MI.
She will be missed by a host of friends, including Geri (Robert) Hase, Neenah, and her children Darrell Hase, Duane (Susan) Hase, Dennis (Wanda) Hase, David (Kathy) Hase, and Teresa (Greg) Matton; Phil and Gail Majerus, Campbellsport; her finance manager Robert Kemps from Robert W. Baird & Co; and her attorney Roger Glenn, both of Appleton.
The Funeral Service for Myrna will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commercial St., Neenah, with Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 PM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. The family requests donations be made, in Myrna's honor, to Bethesda Lutheran Communities, 600 Hoffmann Drive, Watertown WI 53094.
The family thanks Jill Beverlin, Minister of Congregational Life at St. Paul Lutheran Church for years of regular spiritual support; Bethel Lutheran Home staff and Sojourner volunteers for care provided in her last months and days, and Maribeth Nussbaumer, Myrna's medical case management for eight years.
