Obituary
Meredith C. “Chuck” Heuer, of Neenah, age 77, passed away at his home on Friday, December 4, 2015, after a long, courageous battle with MDS. He was born on October 1, 1938, son of the late Carsten and Milda (Engle) Heuer.
Chuck married Sharon Leitzke on July 7, 1988. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting and playing cards. Chuck also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Chuck is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; six children: Mark (Chris) Heuer, Kelly Wollersheim, Kathy (Brent) Castner, Paula (Joe) Kwak, Tracy (Steve) Nau, Vince (Heather) Salvador; 17 grandchildren: Josh, Tyler, Tristan, Kendra, McKayla, Erik, Lindsey, Conner, Mike (Amy), Stephanie (Derek), Laura, Megan (Taylor), Kali, Courtney, Benjamin, Quinn and Teddy; three great-grandchildren: Marlie, Ivie and Mia; a brother, Merwyn (Norma Jean) Heuer; three sisters: Margaret Writt, Diane (Dick) Pound, Donna (Gary) Puls; five brothers-in-law: Lonnie (Linda) Leitzke, Dale Leitzke, Dan (Merilee) Leitzke, Terry (Laurie) Leitzke, Kevin (Heidi) Leitzke; three sisters-in-law: Julie (Randy) Recker, Mary Heuer, Shirley Heuer.
Chuck was preceded in death by a son, Randy; and three brothers: Donald, David and Nathan; and brother-in-law Donald Writt.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. The visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will then be held at the church on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the hour of the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Anthony Phillips and his staff. And also very special thanks to the 5th floor transfusion nurses who were like family to us.
