JOHN CIRIACKS

John Alfred Ciriacks, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 7, 2018. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 10, 1936, son of the late Ruben and Edna (Theriault) Ciriacks. John married Nancy Jane Stanhope on September 10, 1960. She preceded him in death in 1992.

John grew up in Milwaukee. He received his bachelor degree in chemical engineering from UW Madison. John served with the Army Corp of Engineers during the Berlin call up in 1961-1962. He then attended Lawrence College, The Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton earning his Masters and Doctoral degrees. In 1967, he settled in Neenah and worked at Kimberly Clark, Marathon Engineers, MEI Systems and Neenah Engineering.

However, his life will not be defined by his worldly accomplishments but rather by his love for Jesus. By God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ he was saved and born again in 1973. From that point forward the focus of his life was serving Jesus and loving others. He was a leader in the local church with a passion to help others. From being a Big Brother, serving at Evangel Ministries, hosting many foreign exchange students from all over the world and opening his home to anyone in need, he truly lived his faith.

Surviving are his children Lynne (Robert) Bricker, John (Jame'), Karen (Paula), Becky and Rob; his grandchildren Katrina (Jason), Nicholas (Andrea), Jadon, Jenna and Jonah; his step-grandchildren Andrew (Elissa), Alexander, Lauren (Kevin) and Allison; his great grandchildren Jayvion, Gavin, Marcus, Geneva and Thomas. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Colleen), sisters Nannette Krause and Annette (Gary) Hockerman, brother-in-law C. Robert (Jane) Stanhope, sister-in-law Mary Stanhope, his dear cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.  John was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Michael and Ruben, brother-in-law Charles Krause.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 Grand Chute Blvd, Appleton, WI 54913. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Salvation Army Fox Cities. This ministry was core to his values and close to his heart.
