JAMES SMOLINSKI

James E. Smolinski, age 59, of Menasha passed away on Friday night, February 12, 2016 at Theda Clark, following a hard-fought, courageous battle with renal cancer. He was born on November 27, 1956 in Neenah, the son of Eugene H. and Betty L. (Wojcik) Smolinski. He was married to Linda Loper for 23 years, and their marriage was blessed with two daughters. Jim was employed by Azco for the last 8 years as a safety/quality manager. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. Jim loved deer hunting, cycling, biking, music, watching air shows, the Tour de France, and spent countless hours watching people from his driveway. Jim was a very personable man, he was active, helpful, and handy. His unique sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda; daughters: Alicia (Seth) Frank, Menasha, Angela (fiancé Jeff Scott) Smolinski, Long Beach, CA; his mother, Betty Smolinski, Menasha; a sister, Jean Ann (Daren Brown) Smolinski, Menasha; brothers: Steve (Pam), Menasha, Paul (Laura), Sherwood, Eric (Sp. Friend Heather Estay), Menasha; brother-in-law, Mark (Mary) Loper, Ellison Bay, WI; family friends: Greg and Kay Knorr, and their children, Camie and Ryan; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; a brother, Peter; parents-in-law, Warren and Dorothy Loper; and a nephew, Andy Smolinski.

The Funeral Mass for James will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church (528 Second St., Menasha) with Rev. Paul Paider officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
