ELFRIEDA HAUG

Elfrieda Victoria Haug, 97, passed away September 23, 2016, at Emerald Ridge Assisted Living, Neenah. She was born March 4, 1919, daughter of Albert and Lydia (Kuehn) Sieg, in Augusta, WI. She was married December 4, 1938 to Norman Haug at Zion Lutheran Church, Augusta, WI.

Elfrieda and Norm met where they worked. They lived in Eau Claire, WI for almost all of their married life, except for a brief time in Detroit during WWII. She was employed at several retail locations but primarily worked as a drug store clerk for thirty years in Eau Claire. She was active with the women's church organizations through St. John's Lutheran Church. She has lived in Neenah since 1994 where she was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and since 2011 a resident of Emerald Ridge (formerly Villa Saint Clare) Assisted Living.

Survivors are her son Dale (Diane), Neenah, grandchildren, Jennifer Palmer, Wilhoit, AZ, Erika (Thomas) Gaston, Oceanside, CA, Andrew, Milwaukee, WI, Lydia (Mike) Muehrer, Prairie du Sac, WI, Rebekah, Ludington, MI, Sarah, Italy; great grandchildren Aliyah and Sonya Gaston, Lucas and Eleanor Muehrer; sister Edna Bethke, Eau Claire, sister-in-law Lydia Haug, Eau Claire, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elfrieda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and Uncle Henry and Aunt Selma Sieg and their four sons, John, Fred, Victor, and Ervin. She and her sister lived with the Henry Sieg family near Augusta for a number of years.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m.at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Rd., Neenah. Visitation is at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Inurnment will occur at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire, WI.

The family would like to thank the staffs and residents of Assisi Homes, Villa Saint Clare, and Emerald Ridge for their care and friendship. We would also like to acknowledge the care given by Affinity Hospice since July.
