JOYCE STAFFELD

Joyce Elaine “Curtis” Staffeld, formerly of Neenah, passed on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the age of 91.  During her final years Joyce very much enjoyed her friends and the staff in the Monarch Neighborhood at Touchmark Assisted Living in Appleton.  In addition, Joyce and her family appreciated the nurses, social workers, pastoral services, and other staff provided by AseraCare Hospice during the past year.

Joyce enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada with her late husband, Clarence or “Staff,” as his friends would call him, who passed away in 2007.  She also enjoyed camping and trout fishing on streams throughout Wisconsin.

Joyce was born in Springvale Township in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, on May 31, 1925 to Lloyd Harold Curtis and Mary Louise Augusta Strelow Curtis.  She graduated from Rosendale High School in 1942 and then completed the Secretarial Science Course at Oshkosh Business College. She lived in Neenah, Wisconsin most of her adult life. Joyce worked for Kimberly-Clark, at the KIMLARK Ordinance Division during WWII, Engineering Division, in Law Offices in Neenah, followed by many years at Marine Corporation/Bank One in the Trust Department until she retired.

Joyce is survived by her only daughter, Jane McFarland, and her son-in-law, Tim McFarland, and their two adult children, Ryan McFarland and Jennifer McFarland.  Joyce was very proud of her grandchildren, Ryan, who now lives and works in Minneapolis, and Jennifer, who is pursuing a doctoral program in Baltimore. She is also survived by her brother Gene Curtis and his wife Jan Curtis, sisters-in-law, Marian Ernst and Marcella Staffeld, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joyce enjoyed sewing and cooking, taking walks, completing Word Search books, reading newspapers and magazines and watching the Green Bay Packers.
