KATHLEEN LARSON

Kathleen M. “Kat” Larson, age 59, of Menasha passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice on Thursday morning, March 17, 2016 following a courageous seven year battle with cancer. She was born on June 21, 1956 at Edwards AFB, California, daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Rose) Skirpan. Growing up in an Air Force family, Kat traveled the world as a child, and even attended grade school in Germany. She then attended Neenah High School. On October 30, 2002 she married Rick E. Larson in Oshkosh. The couple was blessed with over 20 years together. Kat was a lover of all creatures, great and small, especially her dog, Sadie and cat, Lucy. She adopted every animal she ever met. Kat was also a very talented chef, and loved to cook. She was a selfless, caring person whose fun-loving and uplifting spirit will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; her sister, Diane (Ron) Bodmer, Menasha; a nephew, John VandenBoom, Menasha; uncle, Ken (Angie) Robinson, Neenah; siblings-in-law: Ginny (Steve) Betow, Darboy, Lana (Steve) Brensike, New London, Robin (Vern) Schmitt, Darboy; several other nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Mayme Robinson.

The Memorial Service for Kat will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest privately at Ostrander Cemetery in New London. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.
