Obituary
Jack Collins, age 78, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 1, 2016 after battling with Dementia. He was born on October 26, 1937 in Antigo to William and Marion (Anderson) Collins. He lived in White Lake until he was 15 when the family moved to Menasha. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1955. Jack went on to work for the next 12 years at Banta. He also went onto Presto Products for the next 30 years. Jack married JoAnn Saunders on August 8, 1970 and they resided in Appleton. He later worked in the Appleton and Weyauwega plants until retiring as plant manager in 1998.
Jack enjoyed baseball and bowling in his younger years. He liked watching sports, old westerns, and the History Channel. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to casinos, spending the 4th of July at White Lake, Wisconsin, and spending time at Arbutus Lake. He also deer hunted for 60 years with his brother Mike, their good friends, and his children and grandchildren while teaching and mentoring them the hunting ways.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn Huhn Saunders Collins; children: Jeff Collins of Appleton, Thomas (Patty) Saunders of Appleton, Tim (special friend Patti) Saunders of Neenah, Mike (Julie) Saunders of Appleton, and Kathy (Ernie) Bussian of Clintonville; brother Mike (Connie) Collins of Appleton; sister LouAnn (Ken) Vander Zanden of Little Chute; and sister-in-law Barb Collins of Lombard, Illinois. Jack is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard (Sue) Huhn of Florida, Dave (Jenny) Huhn of New Mexico, Elaine (Bob) Schuler of Clintonville, and Margie (Bob) Jensen of Winneconne; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Vicki Olson; brother Bob Collins; granddaughter Hannah Garvey; and an infant son.
Per Jack's request, there will be no services.
The family would like to thank the Affinity Hospice team and caregivers at St. Elizabeth Hospital's 3rd floor staff for all of their wonderful care.
