Obituary
Howard Roy “Howie” Johnson, age 80, died peacefully at home with his family by his side. Howie was born to Roy and Frieda (Hoehne) Johnson in Neenah, WI. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Neenah, WI.
Howie joined the Navy after his 1954 graduation from Neenah High School. He served four years on the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier. He worked at Central Products for 39 years, retiring in 1998.
In 1959 Howie married Darlene Wollerman and shared 56 wonderful years of marriage together. Howie and Darlene were blessed with three children: Jim (Carrie) Johnson, Menasha; Nancy (Jim) Maas, Menasha; and Laura (Mike) Molitor, Neenah. They have five grandchildren: Rachel (David) Werley, Luke Johnson, Brian (Sharese) Molitor, Jenny (Corey) Castro, Amy (Caleb Phillip) Molitor. They were also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Isaiah and Julia Castro, Colin Hendricks-Molitor, and a fourth, baby Werley due in July.
Howie is also survived by a brother, Lawrence (Judy) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Rose Wollerman, Bette (Mert) Cooney, Virginia Probst, Yvonne (Larry) Dennee; brother-in-law, Wally (Joan) Wollerman; and many nieces and nephews.
Howie was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Ewalt & Irma Wollerman, his sisters: Marian (Tom) Burrow and Joyce Beckerson; brothers-in law: Vern Wollerman, Wayne Wollerman, Eugene Probst; and sister-in-law, Ardell (Herb) Trader.
A memorial service celebrating Howard's life will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Crase officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Due to allergies, in lieu of fresh-cut flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Howie's name.
