CHARLOTTE SCHEDLER

Charlotte truly was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend any of us could ask for.  She spent each day of her life putting others before herself, and we know she continues this as she prepares a place for us to be with her again.  Charlotte Ann Schedler passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on April 8, 2016 after her long and courageous fight with breast cancer.

Charlotte was the baby girl to parents Layton and Merlene Krohn and brothers Butch and Jeff Krohn.  She always shared fond memories of her childhood, especially the memories of their annual trips to Alabama.  The love she received from her family very clearly translated into her love for others.  It was clear from the beginning that Charlotte would spend her life serving others. Very early on Charlotte showed a passion for special education.  She earned her bachelor's degree from UW Eau Claire in this field and worked for many years as an elementary special education teacher.  Charlotte was an exceptional teacher.  She treated each of her students as if they were her own child, always exceeding expectations to ensure that each of her students was loved, cared for, and respected.

Charlotte married her high school sweetheart, David Schedler, on August 1, 1981.  David would tell everyone that Charlotte was his better half, they loved each other very much.  Their daughter Katelyn was born in 1986, and son Jonathan soon after in 1989.  Charlotte exceeded in many things, but there will never be a more loving and selfless mother.  She created a family built on mutual trust, love and respect, and her children absolutely adored her.  Her family continued to grow as her children married, and as she became a grandmother in 2013 and again this year.  Charlotte was so proud of her children and grandchildren.  She loved supporting their interests and visiting them in their homes as they became adults.  Charlotte loved to spoil her grandchildren, both of the girls loved their grandma very much!

When she wasn't busy teaching or raising a family, Charlotte's favorite place to be was on the beach.  She looked forward to annual trips to Florida, and then could always be found soaking up the sun while reading a good book.  Charlotte also loved to celebrate holidays and birthdays.  Many people will remember her as the very best “gift giver”.  She brought joy to those she loved by always making sure that they felt special.  

Charlotte is preceded in death by her father and mother, Layton and Merlene Krohn of Wausau, WI.  Charlotte is survived by many who loved her.  The following is a small list of these people: Husband David Schedler, Daughter Katelyn Schedler (Luke Schmitt) of Chicago, Son Jonathan (Kristine) Schedler of Milwaukee, Brothers Layton Jr. (Patricia) Krohn of Wausau and Jeffery (Barb) Krohn of Portage.  David's parents, Robert (Sharon) Schedler and David's siblings Mark (Stacia) Schedler, Bruce (Francesca) Schedler and Beth (Brian) Bisgrove.

The funeral service will be at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI at 11:00AM on Wednesday April 13th. The visitation will be held on Tuesday April 12th from 3:00 - 7:00PM at Westgor Funeral Home in Neenah, WI and again at the church on Wednesday at 10:00AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her honor.

Charlotte's faith in God shaped the way she loved, cared and served others.  The following verse from Philippians was especially important to her, and her family will continue to honor her legacy by adhering to it's powerful words.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
