JEAN PICARD

Jean A. Picard, of Kaukauna, died Monday, August 15, 2016.  She was born July 21, 1935 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late John and Ann Coppens.  Jean's biological mother, Linda King, passed away when Jean was just a young teenager.  Jean was raised in the Northern Maine area where she met and married her High School sweetheart, Roger Picard.  They were married on September 3, 1956.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 1989.

After graduating from the University of Maine, Roger and Jean relocated their growing family to Neenah, WI.  where they went on to raise their eight children. 

Along with being a stay at home 'working' mom; Jean worked as a custom made seamstress for draperies; enjoyed bowling with her sister Fran Buksyk, watching the Packers, knitting an endless supply of slippers and dish rags which she gave away generously, playing on line scrabble with her sister Joan, and listening to how her children's and grand children's lives  were developing. 

After Roger passed away, Jean moved to Florida where she enjoyed many years of the 'twin connection'.  She will be profoundly missed by her younger sister, Joan Sleight.

Survivors include her eight children: Andrew (Tammy) Picard, Keith (Linda) Picard, Peter (Vicki) Picard, Rosalyn (Tom) Wittmann, Paul (Jen) Picard, Tom Picard, Roger (Danielle) Picard Jr., Pamela (Chuck) Baker; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren: and her twin sister, Joan (Robert) Sleight.

Jean was preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home.  The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name.
