GUADALUPE SOLIS

Guadalupe J. Solis Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 23, 2016.  He was born on December 11, 1930 to the late Albert and Mary (Caldron) Solis in Larsen, Wisconsin.  Lupe went on to graduate from Winneconne High School in 1950, part of the first graduating class.  He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy for eight years of service and was stationed on the USS Hornet.  He married Helen Kosiorek on October 16, 1958, and they spent 57 years together.  Lupe worked at the Neenah Foundry for 37 years.  He was always on the go and had a great sense of humor.  Lupe was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed reminding certain relatives that they were better than the Bears. He was a man who never had a bad word to say about anyone and was a good hearted person.  Lupe always had an open door to family and was loved dearly by those that knew him best.

He is survived by his wife Helen Solis; children: Ann (Walter Seelow) Solis, Margie (Enrique) Leon, and Patrick (Kimberly) Solis; and sisters: Juanita (Manuel) Bedolla, Mary Samudio, and Amelia Trindal.  Lupe is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his sons Guadalupe Solis Jr. and Richard Solis; sisters Helen Jacobo and Faustina Rangle; brothers Ysidro Gonzales and John Gonzales; and brother-in-law Keno Samudio.

The Funeral Service for Lupe will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Road, Menasha. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
