ETHEL SELLNOW

Ethel A. Sellnow, child of God, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Valley VNA in Neenah at the age of 95. Ethel was born on August 23, 1920, to the late William and Dorena (Schwanke) Bohlmann at their home in Neenah.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Walter E. Sellnow, on August 8, 1942, and they enjoyed almost 72 happy years together. After raising their family in Neenah, they retired to their condo on the Wolf River in Fremont. They spent their last years together at the Valley VNA.

Ethel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church her entire life, being baptized, confirmed, and married there. Ethel was a dedicated volunteer throughout her life. She served as an American Red Cross Gray Lady at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King, was a volunteer at the Weyauwega Health Care Center, delivered for Meals on Wheels in the Fremont Area, and served on the Fremont Election Board. Ethel loved music, watching the birds, reading the paper, playing Bingo, singing hymns to praise her Lord, and being with her family.

Ethel is survived by two daughters: Susan (Michael) Allen, Tucson, AZ; Julie Miller, Appleton; three grandchildren: Andrew (Sara) Miller, Hartford, WI; Daniel (Kelly) Miller, Milwaukee; Mickey (Scott) Stratil, Black Creek; three great grandsons: Wyatt Miller, Levi Miller, Corbin Stratil; one sister: Elaine Spang, Neenah. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and her brother Elmer Bohlmann. Survivors also include all the loving staff members from Ethel's VNA family who provided such great comfort and care for her.

The Christian Memorial Service for Ethel will be held on Saturday, April 23. 2016 at 3:00 PM in the KC Center at the Valley VNA, 1535 Lyon Drive, Neenah, with Rev. Douglas Englebrecht of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be at 2:30 PM preceding the service. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery earlier in the day. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ethel's name.
