MABEL HINZ

Our mother, Mabel M. Hinz (Abhold), went to join her husband Robert on July 4, 2016. Mabel was born on July 27, 1921, a middle child of Joseph and Gertrude Abhold's eleven children.  On January 27, 1942 Mabel married Robert N. Hinz.  Robert preceded her in death on October 16, 1964.  You may remember her as a friend, family member or just an acquaintance but to us she was the best Mother you could have asked for.

Mabel greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Having all those siblings gave her a huge family, and she loved every one of them.  Mabel went with her sister, Edna and her husband Ray, on a train to Oregon to see their sister Ruth and then to New Mexico to see their brother, Harvey.  She had many fond memories of her travels, and she looked forward to the family reunions and any occasion to see her family.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her.  Some she knew better than others, but she loved them all the same.

Mabel is survived by her son, Gary (Rosie) Hinz and daughter, Kathy (Bill) Geiger.  She will be missed by her 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Our sweet little “Ma” is finally at peace and no longer fighting that dementia demon. 

A Memorial Service for Mabel will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, with Rev. Mike Ingold officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. 

The family would like to thank my Mom's “other family,” Manor Care in Fond du Lac.  We couldn't have gotten through this without them.  Special thanks to Tonia and Sarah, who are just the best!
