JUNE WAMSLEY

June Laverne Wamsley died peacefully on May 1, 2017. She was born on September 11, 1918 in Hayden Lake, Idaho. June was raised in Mishawaka, Indiana,   where she met and married her sweetheart, Dar Wamsley in August of 1940. Kimberly Clark brought them to Neenah where they raised two daughters, Julie, and Barbara.  They retired to Prescott, AZ in 1976, where they enjoyed eight years together with lots of good friends, sunshine and GOLF!  June decided to return to Wisconsin after losing her mate, and was able to be part of the lives of her two grandsons. Missing the warmth of the Arizona sunshine, she boldly set off for Green Valley, AZ in her 80's.  She loved her life there, becoming involved in golf, starting a Green Bay Packer Club, volunteering as a Telecare caller ( often calling folks much younger than herself!), playing in several bridge groups, attending Valley Presbyterian Church, swimming daily and living a happy and mostly healthy life for almost 20 years.  In May of 2016, she was encouraged to make a move back to Wisconsin to be close to her family.  It was a difficult move, but she accepted and embraced her new life, made new friends at the VNA, and was able to share summer days, Packer games, concerts , family gatherings , and  most of all…time with six beautiful great grandchildren.  June, Grandma June, June Bug, Junie Moon, Mom…will be remembered for her love of life, her late afternoon cocktail, her natural ear for music (she favored upbeat tunes), her enthusiasm for bridge (which she played well to the end!) her passion for the game of golf, and mostly….her smile. She was a gift to all, leaving a bit of sunshine with everyone she met.  She is survived by daughters Barbara Ramaeker and Julie Brook (John) Stedman; grandsons, Brad (Katie) and Court (Kendra) Ramaeker; great grandchildren Abby, Ben Sam, Liz, Olivia and Cres, and niece, Alice Butine.
