Obituary
Lucile V. (Schwartzkopf) Asmus, of Neenah, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born March 29, 1926 in Neenah, daughter of the late Nels and Martha (Schmidt) Rasmussen.
Lucile married Julius Schwartzkopf on June 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1974. She then married Sheldon Asmus on July 11, 1980, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1990.
Lucile worked at Dutch Oven Bakery as a teenager. She was then employed with Kimberly Clark in their food service area for 16 years before retiring in 1991. Lucile was a DEVOTED mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she took pride in the fact that she was able to be actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for over 30+ years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Neenah and she enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies Aide for many years. She loved collecting teddy bears, evident by the many bears that filled every available space in her home.
Survivors include her three children: Cindy (Mike) Nowak, Penny (Larry) Lancaster, Tim (Lynn) Schwartzkopf; seven grandchildren: Keely Hyde (Dan Calkins), Matthew Hyde, Terry Lancaster, Mark (Cindy) Lancaster, Cindy (Jack) Bahlman, Ashlee (Carlton) Williams, Adam Schwartzkopf; seven great-grandchildren: Hayley Roberts, Nicholas Hyde, Lauren Hyde, Matthew Bahlman, Anna Bahlman, Maggie Bahlman, Kirk Lancaster; three sisters: Hilda Van Camp, Ina Rasmussen, Rose Buser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucile was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak Street, Neenah, with Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Trinity Lutheran Church OR Heartland Hospice in Lucile's name.
