WILLIAM BEYER

William “Bill” Beyer, age 81, of Neenah passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 10, 2016 with his family at his side.  Bill was born on July 5, 1935 to the late Arthur and Genevieve (Goddard) Beyer.  He attended Menasha schools and graduated from Menasha High School in 1954.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army serving his country from 1958 to 1960.  He then worked at American National Can as a pressmen for over thirty years before retiring in 1990.  Bill served as President of Local 77P for many years and as President of the Fox Valley Area Labor Council Retiree's Club for twenty years.  He enjoyed woodworking and spending many hours hunting and fishing up north in the Hiles area.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Sandy Beyer; sons Troy Beyer and Travis (Vicky) Beyer; daughters Tammy Hoffstatter and Tanya Kons; grandchildren: Aspen, Tristan, Ethyn Beyer; Dylan (U.S. Marine Corps) and Amara Hoffstatter; and Cresha, Corisa, and Conan Kons; sister-in-law Lana (Richard) Sprague; special cousin Donna Steudle; other relatives, god children, friends, and his furry companion Toby.

Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Amanda Hobus; daughter-in-law Sue Beyer; mother-in-law Frances Knipfel; brother-in-law John Luedtke; and other relatives.

A time of gathering in Bill's memory will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Labor Temple, 157 S. Green Bay Road, Neenah from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (use South Entrance).  A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors.

Bill's family would like to thank the staff at Appleton Medical Center's 8th floor, ThedaCare Hospice, The Bridges, and Dr. Kurt Bloomhuff.

Sandy would like to express her appreciation and gratitude to her sons Troy and Travis; granddaughter Amara; and daughter-in-law Vicky for the love and support they gave to Bill.
