PATRICK MURPHY

Patrick H. Murphy, 83, of Menasha, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.  He was born in Neenah in 1933, son of the late Corneilius and Loretta (Leonard) Murphy.

Patrick graduated from Neenah High School in 1951 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1952-1956.  Patrick married Mercedes Lobato in 1954 recently celebrating 62 years of marriage. 

Patrick worked as a photographer at Munroe Studios, American Can Company, and retired in 1995 from Kimberly-Clark Corporation, as Manager of Photographic and Audio Visual Services.  He received his Masters of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America Association in 1990.

Patrick is survived by his devoted wife, Marcie, four children:  Loretta (Jerry) Kjemhus, Dennis, Linda, and Karen (Dean) Redding; four grandchildren: Kelly Tong, Kasey Tong (Brett Edgerton), Shannon and Jesse Ward.  He is also survived by sisters-in-law, nephews, and other relatives.

Patrick was actively involved in the Boy's Brigade for several years and coached St. John's School-Menasha, first girls' volleyball team from 1975-1976.  Patrick was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church serving as a lector, usher, and chairman of the board of directors in previous years.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Rev. Paul Paider officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the mass.

Pat's family would like to thank the caregivers, nurses, and support staff of the Valley VNA and Affinity Hospice for their compassionate care.  A special thank you to friends and neighbors for their help and kindness.
