DARRELL DACHELET

Darrell A. Dachelet, age 71, of Appleton passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born on September 22, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin son of the late William and Evelyn (Schwartz) Dachelet.  After High School Darrell attended UW Oshkosh, and earned his Bachelor's in Business from UW Whitewater.  He married Darlene Johnson on July 16, 1966.  Darrell then proudly served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam.  Darrell and Darlene were blessed with two sons, and just shy of 42 years before Darlene preceded him in death on July 1, 2008.  Darrell was lucky enough to find love again, and on September 23, 2011 he married Mary (McCabe) Klutz, who survives.  Darrell worked as a Safety, Health, and Environment Manager for Oscar Mayer and Hillshire Farm, from which he retired in 2012.  He and Darlene also opened the Gloria Jeans Coffee stores at Fox River Mall and Bay Park Square Mall.  He was a quiet man, and a gentleman.  Darrell loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching the Brewers, Packers, and Bucks.  He also loved his Ford Mustangs, often enjoying road rallies, car shows, and cruises with his Mustang Club.  Darrell showed his generosity as an active and faithful member of Pathways Church, and a volunteer with Best Friends of Neenah/Menasha.  Above all, Darrell's grandchildren were the delight of his life, and the tender moments that he shared with them will be cherished by his beloved family.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; his sons: Steven Dachelet, Appleton; Peter (Katrina) Dachelet, Appleton; step-children: Tiffany (Steve) Person, Appleton; Jason Klutz, Leadville, CO; grandchildren: Eviana, Eli, and Kadin Dachelet; Madalyne and Olivia Dachelet; a brother, Robert (Carol) Dachelet, Henderson, NV; other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents and his first wife, Darlene, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dachelet.

The Memorial Service for Darrell will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pathways Church (311 W. Evergreen Dr., Appleton) with Rev. Adam Demetrician officiating.  Friends will be received directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Darrell will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Darrell's name may be given to Dave and Jennifer Bell who run an orphanage in Kenya.  Please mail to: Mahali pa Maisha P.O.
