JAMES SELL

James A. Sell, age 70, passed away peacefully at Care Partners in Fox Crossing, on Saturday, June 28, 2025. He was born June 10, 1955, in Summit, WI, son of the late Arvin and Dorothy (Meschefske) Sell.

James, known as Jim by most, was a graduate of Neenah High School, and afterward, had his own business selling firewood. Jim enjoyed spending time with family, especially his parents. He spent a lot of time at his parent's cottage and then ultimately his own, just outside of Wild Rose. Jim was adopted at a young age by Arvin and Dorothy. Later in life he was able to meet his birth mother Lenora Sheffer and was able to build a relationship with that side of the family, which brought him great joy.

Jim will be lovingly remembered for his big, friendly smile, tender heart and strong faith. He  was ready to peacefully fall asleep, knowing full well Christ would return and take him to his eternal home. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Survivors include his two sons: Andrew Sell and Matt Mullard; a sister, Connie; brother, Lowell; and various cousins and other relatives. Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Allan and his birth mother Lenora.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Congregational United Church of Christ, 1511 Nicolet Blvd., Neenah, with Rev. Rob Van Ess officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

We are grateful to Brenda and staff at Care Partners for the tremendous amount of  love and care they poured into Jim. We also want to thank St. Croix Hospice for their excellent, loving service, to Jim and his family.
