Oliver “Bud” Van Everett Koland, 86, Neenah, WI passed away surrounded by family on September 26, 2016. He was born November 16, 1929, in Chisum MN. Bud is survived by two brothers, George Koland, Jr. (Shirley) and Laddie Koland (Judy). He was a proud graduate of Hibbing MN High School. Bud was employed at Corr Opticians in Neenah.
Bud married Patricia Ann Lloyd October 11, 1952. Bud is survived by Patricia and five children, Vance Koland (Toni), Janell Cleveland (Jerry), Jeanne Lehl, Joline Hjerstedt (Monny), Robert Koland. Bud dearly loved his grandchildren, Jody, Ben; Adam, Liz; Molly, Brian, Alex, Emily; Heather and Daniel and Great-grandchildren Chase, Breannen, Winston, Julia; Parker, Tyler, Oliver; Roco, Matilda; and Finn.
Later in his life, Bud became a self-taught oil painter. Painting became his passion. It was not unusual for him to start and complete a painting in one sitting-usually 2 hours. Bud leaves behind over 1500 canvases and was most recently selected to have one of his paintings hung in the Kohler Art Museum, Sheboygan, WI.
An assortment of Bud's floral oil paintings will be on display at the memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 pm. The celebration of his life will begin at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud's memory may be made to the family.
