Obituary
Mavis I. Brown, of Neenah, age 89, passed away peacefully October 9, 2016. She was born December 23, 1926 in Sherburn, MN, daughter of the late Everett and Elinore (Headley) Cross.
Mavis married Joel Brown on October 17, 1945.
Because salvation from sins is a free gift bestowed on everyone who simply believes in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, Mavis received God's forgiveness. Her personal relationship with God developed a visible joy of her salvation and assurance of eternal life in heaven.
Survivors include her two daughters: Rene' (Dan) Brygger, Nancy “Angel” (Patrick) Mesagno; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joanne (Randy) Duba; and brothers: Gene (Ione) Cross, Melvin (Luci) Cross.
Mavis was preceded in death by beloved husband, Joel; son, David; and sister, Muriel (Glydon) Mayo.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah, with Dr. Danny Leavins officiating. Visitation will be held at Westgor Funeral Home TODAY, from 7:00 PM -9:00 PM, and again at the church Thursday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
