Obituary
Bruce D. Zander, age 75 of Neenah, was eternally united with his true love, Lucille (Johnson) early Sunday, October 23, 2016. He was born January 16, 1941 to the late Ervin and Erna (Seager) Zander in Merrill, WI. When he was eight, his mother passed away and he was raised by his late aunt, Ella Seager. On August 29, 1964, he married Lucille.
Bruce was an avid Packer and Badger fan, but when games weren't on, he could be found enjoying the joke of politics. He also enjoyed playing card games, specifically cribbage, 13, and canasta, and was a proud supporter of police and law enforcement.
A true “islander,” Bruce owned two islands in the Wisconsin River near Merrill. He and Lucille spent much time partaking in their true passion of camping, trapping, and fishing, and proudly planted over 500 trees.
Bruce is survived by his children: Cherie (Doug) Shusta; Ritchie (Trisha) Zander; Scottie Zander; his grandchildren: Gary, Casey, and Andy Shusta; Jacob and Joshua Zander; and in-laws: Darlene Hinz; Robert (Trina) Johnson; Bonnie (Jim) Gass; Marion Gatterman; Peter (Nancy) Johnson; Mike Diezler; and Judy Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; his sister, Carlynn Ann Zander; and his in-laws: Marv Hinz; Randy Gatterman; Karen Dietzler; and George Johnson.
A memorial service for Bruce will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
