DARLENE SCHMIDT

Darlene “Dar” Schmidt, Greenville, passed away unexpectedly October 4, 2018. 

She was born May 27, 1941, in Lodi. Wisconsin, the daughter of Violet and Donald Fitzgerald.

Dar, and her husband Tom, were married in March, 1964, and are the proud parents of Chris Schmidt, Larsen, and Terri (Mike) Lenz, McFarland.  She is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Chris Schmidt; daughter, Terri (Mike) Lenz; grandson, Mason Lenz; granddaughter, Ashley Schmidt; and brothers: Larry, Dewey and Doug Johnson, all of Lodi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Helen, Eugene and Patti.

Dar, who retired in 2005, served as computer technology assistant, US consumer sales, for Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Responsibilities included sales force training and support for 50+ software packages. She also managed incentive award earnings for the sales force.

She was previously employed as a personal secretary at the McClone Insurance Agency.

Dar was very active in the Spring Lakes Condominium Association, serving on the board of directors and chair of the Ponds Committee the past six years.

She was a member of First English Church in Appleton…and enjoyed reading, quilting; and following sporting events, particularly Mason's soccer and basketball games as well as Wisconsin Badger football and basketball.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North St., Appleton, with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating.  The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Joe's Food Pantry in Menasha.
