ROBERT PETTS

Robert E. Petts, age 91 of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born July 26, 1925 to the late Earl Petts and Grace Simmons (Petts) Frisk. He was a proud Military Veteran, having served in the Marine Corps, Fighting Fourth Division during World War II and was an Iwo Jima survivor, having earned a Purple Heart.

Bob was a retiree of American National Can, having worked there for 37 years. He was a member of many game leagues and enjoyed playing cards at the Neenah Club, as well as in many other leagues.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and an outstanding golfer who enjoyed cooking and eating “good food.” His specialties were barbeque chicken, waffles and pancakes, and Pfeffernuss cookies.

Bob loved his family fiercely, and will be missed by his children: Yvonne (Greg) Baldwin; Robin (David) Noll; Mary Jo (Randy) Tenpas; Robert D. (Elizabeth) Petts; and Jason Petts; his grandchildren: Jodie (Dan); Jill (Michael); Jenna; Julie (Andy); Brittany; Ben; Mckenzie; Zachary; Hayley (Brian); Peter; Meghan (Jeff); Robert L.; Johnathon; and Tia; as well as by 16 great-grandchildren and his sister, Florence Garnich.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Petts in 1966, and by his latest wife, Phyllis (Sopata) Petts in 2010; and two brothers: Milton E. Petts and Roy C. Petts.

The funeral service for Bob will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Bob's name.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Oakridge Gardens for all their care and compassion. Special thank you to his roommate at Oakridge, David Kaufert for being such a good friend. Also, thank you to the Valley VNA and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful job caring for him.
