Obituary
Marvin Moderson, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. Marv was born on December 22, 1931 to the late Albert and Katherine (Yankuskie) Moderson. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1950. He married Shirley Godin on April 28, 1955 in Wittenberg, Wisconsin, and they spent 55 years together before she passed away on January 9, 2010. Marv and Shirley were members at St. Gabriel Parish in Neenah for many years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1952 to 1954 in Germany during the Korean War. Marv went on to work for Kimberly Clark for 40 years and was proud to be a union member and officer for 26 years. He started the Retirees Club and was the president for 8 years. Marv also was involved in the K.C. Quarter Century Club and started the Retirees Dinner for former employees for 16 years for the Kimberly Clark Lakeview Mill Complex. He enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, playing dart ball, and helping people with medical and insurance needs.
Marv is survived by his children: Dennis (Bobbie Jo) Moderson, Karl (Dee) Moderson, Sherry (David) Wall, and Mark Moderson; brother Donald Moderson; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; sisters: Martha, Alice, and Beatrice; and brothers Oscar and Gordon.
Visitation for Marv will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral liturgy for Marv will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Gabriel Parish, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah. An additional time of visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Marv's family would like to give a special thanks to his neighbors Kay and Gary Hobart, Aaron and Jenny Rebman, and Sue and John Maynard for all of their kindness. Additional thanks go to the wonderful staffs at Peabody Manor and ThedaCare Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
