BRUCE RICHARDSON

It's with great sorrow that we bid farewell to loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend: Bruce Richardson.  On February 2, 2017 Bruce passed away from complications during emergency surgery.  He bravely fought cancer twice and was well on his way to a third victory.  His third bout with cancer was in remission, and he was scheduled for what was to be his last bone marrow transplant.

Bruce maintained a positive and optimistic view of people and the world.  His supportive, loving, laid-back personality enabled him to see the funny side of life's happenings.  Bruce provided a compassionate ear, and a deeply-felt hug for those who were most in need.  He will be missed greatly.

Bruce found a fulfilling career as an account manager at R. R. Donnelly in Menasha.  He loved his co-workers as family, sharing fun stories of their adventures and triumphs.  When forced to miss work while battling cancer, Bruce kept in touch with  his work family, taking pride in their continued successes, yet missing the daily interactions such as: Whopper Wednesdays; and wagering against the Pirates' fans, with whom he shared his passion for baseball.

Outside of work, Bruce continued to chase his passion for baseball, working at the Timber Rattlers for fun and watching the Brewers in his man cave while enjoying a Budweiser.  He also pursued other interests, such as: hunting down oatmeal raisin cookies to satisfy his sweet tooth; brewing a mean cup of tea; enjoying the sounds of Kid Rock; and his police scanner.  Bruce loved being the Grillmaster for cookouts and playing games such as Chase the Ace and Spoons; for which he was known to occasionally cheat.

Bruce was a member of Pathways Church, which he loved.  He also loved reading his bible.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 28 years, Cheryl, his Angel;  three children: Suzann (Tony) Beschta; Rebecca Van Handel; Corey Richardson; grandchildren: Jayden, Landon, and Brielle Beschta; Carter and Kylie Van Handel; sister: Donna (Bill) Schiefelbein; niece, Beth (Bryan) Stevens; his step-mother, Barbara Richardson; step-siblings: Tim, Steve, Deb, Elizabeth, and their families; the entire Hesselman family; several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the state of Michigan.  He joins both of his parents, Elmer and Lucille Richardson, in Heaven.

The funeral service for Bruce will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Demetrician officiating.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
