Ethel Foat, age 90 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb 6, 2017.
Ethel was born in Hartford City, Indiana on April 13, 1926. She was the daughter of Frelen and Mae VanHorn. The family relocated to Menasha, Wisconsin where Ethel graduated from Menasha High School in 1944. She completed her graduate studies at Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois. As a young girl in third grade, she made a decision to serve Jesus Christ as a missionary and became Calvary Bible Church's first financially supported foreign missionary.
Ethel VanHorn met Chester Foat, of Waukesha, Wisconsin at Crescent Lake Bible Camp in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The two were married May 7, 1955. Chester preceded her in death on January 10, 2002.
Ethel Foat was employed at Calvary Bible Church for over 35 years and retired at the age of 88.
Survivors include: Caroline (Dale) Ribble, John (Annette) Foat, Deana (Reid) Ribble, Jeffrey (Gloria) Foat, Robert (Julie) Foat along with 19 grandchildren and as of this date 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son David Foat and daughter Susan Lagan.
A memorial service will be held 1100 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Calvary Bible Church. 1450 Oakridge Road Neenah, Wisconsin .. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Internment will follow a time of fellowship, by 2:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in her name.
