Obituary
Carol A. Laemmrich, age 79 of Neenah, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 12, 2017. She was born in Weyauwega to the late Thomas and Linda (Howard) Gerlach on December 26, 1937.
As a child, Carol took quickly to taking piano lessons and was an excellent student. As a teenager, her family moved to Menasha where she graduated from high school. She went on to UW-Oshkosh where she got her teaching degree, and taught for Neenah schools.
In the early 1960s, Carol met James Andersen. They married in February 1963 at St. Patrick's Parish, at which point she began playing piano and organ for them. Eventually, she was offered a fulltime position for the church not only as their musician, but also as their liturgist. She then decided to continue her education and received a Master's Degree in Liturgical Studies.
After Jim's passing in 1999, Carol married Richard Laemmrich. Together they traveled and wintered in the Biloxi area of Mississippi. Dick preceded her in death in September 2005.
Carol was known for her love of piano; music, especially classical and NPR; she liked plays, musicals and movies; active in Chaminade (Women's Chorus); she was always laughing, and especially loved shopping. She enjoyed trips to Mexico with Jim, and to the south with Dick; and to New York to visit her son, James. She was also very active at the YMCA until her health began to decline.
Carol is survived by her children: Lynda Andersen, Neenah; James Andersen, New York City; her nephews: Jerry (Mary) Burke; and Bob (Chris Ahmuty) Schlack; and great-nephew, Kris Burke.

Per Carol's wishes, her body has been donated to UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.
A memorial service for Carol will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at St. Patrick Parish, 320 Nicolet Boulevard, Menasha Fr. Jim Hablewitz and Pastoral Leader Mary Krueger officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
