Obituary
On May 5, a much loved and respected man passed into eternal life surrounded by his girls.
Dennis Adolph Beyer, age 70, of Neenah, was born on January 17, 1947, in New London to Adolph Beyer and Hertha Diestler. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on May 2, 1966, and served his country as a Seabee during two tours in Vietnam. On May 4, 1968, he married the love of his life, LaVerne Hoffman, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New London, and together they raised two daughters. He retired from Neenah Paper in 2003.
Denny loved to travel, fish, play cribbage, watch Bears and Blackhawks games, and spend time at their Florida home. Above all, he loved laughing, especially with his beloved granddaughter, Maddisen. He always found time to serve other veterans through the Neenah VFW and Neenah-Menasha Honor Guard.
Denny is survived by his wife, LaVerne; daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Knaack and Stephanie (Daniel) Keeley; granddaughter, Maddisen Keeley; sisters, Beverly Close and Connie (Daniel) Rhoden; in-laws, Carol Linberg, GP Hoffman and Leonard Close; nephews, nieces, cousins and many close friends, including Tom and Sherrie Weston, Dave and Sharon Gauthier, and Paul and Trish Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Close.
A service to honor Denny's life will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial Street, Neenah with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service, with lunch to follow. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Denny's family extends a special thank you to their many supportive friends, as well as to the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital and Affinity Hospice for their care and compassion.
