MARY COENEN

Mary B. Coenen, of Neenah, age 61, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Aurora St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, following an unexpected medical complication.  She was born February 25, 1956 in Beaver Dam, WI, daughter of Elmer and Joan (Milkey) Lehman.

Mary graduated from UW – Oshkosh with a Nursing Degree.  She worked as a RN in many different fields, including occupational health and as a care coordinator.  Mary was a devoted single mother and always put her two children first.  Her two children followed her into the medical field where they emulate her kind spirit and hardworking nature.  Mary was very excited to become a “Nana” this past April to her first grandchild.  She enjoyed taking walks with her dog Molly, cooking for her family, and took pride in her health and wellness.  She was also a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah.  Mary was a strong, optimistic woman with a heart of gold.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two children: Stephanie (Jake) McDonald, Timothy Coenen and his fiancé, Elizabeth Johnson; her granddaughter, Josephine McDonald; her parents, Elmer and Joan Lehman; a brother, Elmer (Joell) Lehman, and a sister, Cindy (Steve) Youngwirth.

Mary was preceded in death by two sisters: Lisa Lehman, Patty Lehman.

The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating.  The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
