BERTRAM ENGSTROM

Bertram G. Engstrom, age 87 of Neenah, passed away early Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born June 7, 1930 to the late Paul and Margaret (Ruberg) Engstrom in Morse, WI, and married Dorothy Engstrom. She preceded him in death in February, 2014.

Bert was a Korean War Army Veteran, having served from 1951 to 1953. In October of 2015 he went on the Old Glory Honor Flight; the highlight of this trip was the Homecoming Reception at Appleton Airport.  He worked for Beloit-Manhattan for 39 years and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Packers fan, loved to watch baseball, and the Brewers were his favorite team.

Bert is survived by his sons: Robert (Theresa) and Paul (Patti) Engstrom; and by his two grandchildren: Christopher Holdren and Alysha (Travis Waalkens) Engstrom; as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth, Kenneth, Earl, and Dina.

A funeral service for Bert will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St, Neenah, Rev. Clarence Harms officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Full military honors will be performed immediately following the service at church by the U.S. Army and the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard.  Bert will join Dorothy at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Bert's family would like to thank The Heritage Hospice Residence for their compassionate care, as well as Bert's nieces: Lori, Betty, and Marie for their visits over the years.
